Due to the impact of the ongoing liquidity crisis in the bond market affecting our non-profit
secondary market partner Edsouth, Edamerica will temporarily suspend the special Edloan
benefit program for teachers, nurses and select engineering programs effective for loans first
disbursed on or after June 15, 2008.

Loans first disbursed prior to June 15 will retain eligibility for the Edloan benefit program once
loans are sold to Edsouth. Borrowers whose loans fall into this category may complete the
eligibility process by contacting us at 800.337.6884. Loans which are currently receiving the
Edloan reduced interest rate benefit will be unaffected.

Students enrolled in the targeted academic disciplines who have selected Edamerica are
encouraged to remain as Edamerica borrowers. Edamerica hopes to resume acceptance of new
borrowers in the Edloan programs as soon as the student loan secondary market liquidity returns
to normal.
