The XtraCredit Bar Study Loan program provides access to a one-time loan designed specifically for students who are preparing for the Bar Exam.
Students may borrow up to $15,000 to cover expenses related to preparing for the Bar Exam. To be eligible for this loan, the creditworthy borrower must have previous loans with Edamerica. Borrowers who cannot qualify for the loan based on their own credit status may apply with a creditworthy co-borrower. The XtraCredit Bar Study Loan interest rate is based on LIBOR as well as a review of the borrower’s and, if applicable, co-borrower’s credit. Origination fees vary based upon credit review.
Repayment of the XtraCredit Bar Study Loan may be deferred for up to nine months immediately following disbursement. Payments of both principal and interest are deferred during this time. The loan enters repayment at the end of nine months; any accrued and unpaid interest is capitalized when entering repayment.
